door latch malfuntioning

has anyone had a problem with their door latch not latching?? my rear driver side door has.. twice actually! first I thought it just froze due to the weather, but it happened again and it was the same door. sprayed a bit of silicone spray to get it to work so I can take it to the dealership since I was already taking the car there for a service. so when I got the car they said that they coudnt do anything for the door latch since its not malfunctioning while it was there. I guess I have to wait until one of my kids fall off when it decides to malfunction again. I sent a communication to Volvo about it since I believe its a serious safety issue. if anyone got a similar problem what did you do? thanks!

Hasn't happened to me, but the next time it happens take a video from your phone and share it with your advisor.

happened to us, although our door simply stopped opening from inside or out. took to dealer, need to replace the door latch, $800+ to repair...wtf?

I had the same issue with my Volvo XC90. I took a video of it. The dealership mentioned they had seen this issue in certain previous models. I believe they put some sort of plastic onto the door handles.
