Continuous Software Updates? Message Software Updates Available

I bought my 2016 XC90 Inscription in July, 2016.
While I love it, it constantly pops up the message on the center top screen "Software updates available" constantly.

It has been to the dealership 3 times for just this reason since our purchase and updates have been performed 3 other times while at the dealership for other reasons.

Is it unreasonable to think that Volvo is releasing updates TOO frequently or is my car NOT receiving the updates when serviced??

I / We cannot tell any differences other than the Pilot 2 software update to help with auto drive in Cruise.

I think those map be app updates. Does the dealer update those as well?
