The second gen cars have a 21 gallon tank, I have never filled with more than 16. I ran out on the way to a gas station and the indicator never touched the red zone. I have an old Ford diesel that has the same problem and it is a known flaw (plastic pickup breaks after 30+years in diesel fuel). Anyone else have this problem? Any shortcuts to dropping the tank?
