Hi I am new on here and have joined to see if anyone has any information or can shed any light on how my XC90 superheated and burnt away the interior along the central part of the car where the battery is situated and the floor on driver and passenger side - it was a write off, there was a lot of noxious smoke. It happened while charging overnight on our driveway. This happened almost exactly a year ago and I handed it over to Volvo to investigate but the long promised report has never materialised. Has anyone encountered anything similar? I found one incident in UK a few years back but reports suggested that this turned out to be something unconnected to car safety. Is this a regular but unreported phenomenon? It is very worrying to me. (2019 T8 I think)
