Running boards

We have decided we need to get running boards to help my elderly father get in and out of the car. Dos anyone have any experience of getting factory or dealer installed or using other options available from specialty companies. We have friends who have added these for BMW's and have preferred the non-manufacturer options. Several of the foreign car company factory/dealer running boards are narrow, pipe-like steps and look easy for a foot to slip off of. Any advice would be appreciated. If non-factory brand, what step brands might you recommend to buy or avoid? Thanks!

I have the OEM running boards and agree with you that they look very nice (especially at night since they have LEDs) but they are too narrow.

I would advise you to consider alternatives, as they will be probably larger and certainly cheaper.

I would like running boards for my 2018 Volvo XC 90. Something that I can install my self.
