- What I Drive
- XC90 Hybrid 2019
When I park and get out of our still-new XC90 Hybrid (Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine R-Design 5dr AWD Automaticn, 2019), I get a strong smell of petrol -- even, and possibly especially, when it has been driven on electricity. The dealership I bought it from told me to get it checked out right away so I pushed the first service forward a bit (8 months instead of 12, hardly any mileage). But the service centre told me (after charging me £400 for the service) that the smell is normal --although not great, they admitted-- and arises because the car heating system uses petrol. But I still don't understand why it should be ok for it to smell so strongly outside the car after stopping. Is anyone else experiencing this?
