Dear Forum,

I am considering purchasing a set of dedicated winter tyres for use in mixed slush/light snow/cold surface contact for driving in UK.

Any recommendations would be welcome.

hi XC2429, I recently installed bridgestone blizzak dm-v2 based on reviews. as for myself, it has not snowed yet this year. road noise is minimal. I got a 255/50 r19. got them because my xc90 came with summer tires(Pirelli scorpion verde) and according to Pirelli they should not be used for temps below 45 deg. F. I can update you on the handling/traction when it snows here in Maryland. USA.

Still waiting for my R Design up here in Sheffield but currently have Cooper Zeon LTZ on my Disco 4, they're not dedicated winter tyres but they are very capable and were very good in last years snow. Contemplating getting these for my XC90 at some point but am going to run the originals for the foreseeable and see how I get on.
